We collect no personally identifiable information directly. We do not operate a login system, comment system, contact form, mailing list, or e-commerce function. The only data processing that occurs on this site is through third-party services listed below.

3.1 Google Analytics (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site (which pages are popular, how people navigate, approximate geographic location at country/region level). This is anonymous, aggregated data — we cannot identify individual users.

3.2 Weather & Tide Data APIs

Live weather, swell and tide data is fetched from third-party APIs including Open-Meteo, World Tides, and the UK Met Office. These services receive your approximate location (if you grant permission for the "Worth the Drive?" tool) or a fixed South Hams location. No personal data is stored by us from these requests.

3.3 External Links

The site contains links to third-party websites (local businesses, tourism boards, surf schools etc.). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We recommend reading their privacy policies before engaging with them.

We do not store personal data on our own servers. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months per GA4 default settings, after which it is automatically deleted by Google.
